National Get Outdoors Day at Prince Gallitzin State Park

Prince Gallitzin State Park will be celebrating National Get Outdoors Day on Saturday June 8, from 1 p.m.– 5 p.m. , followed by their first “Music at Muskrat” concert series on the beach starting at 5 p.m. at Muskrat Beach Area #2.

This event is a free outdoor recreation fair for people of all ages and skill levels.

There will be a variety of booths and stations set up for everyone to visit at their own pace, and will include disc golf, geocaching, fishing, archery, Kayak Instruction (PA Fish and Boat Commission), pontoon boat tours of the lake, military march formation (SSgt Derek Jimenez, the Air Force recruiter), camping, volunteering (Friends of Prince Gallitzin State Park), and more.

Most stations will give visitors the opportunity to try out a new activity, while others will provide information. Registration is not required, but limited spots are available for on-the-water kayak instruction.

All equipment for these activities will be provided, and fishing licenses are not required if fishing under an instructor’s direction.

A full schedule of events and a map can be found on the Prince Gallitzin State Park Facebook page, as well as by contacting the park office.
