According to the National Museum of the United States Navy, The USS Enterprise (CV-6) is a Yorktown class aircraft carrier that was commissioned at Newport News, Va., on May 12, 1938. She was at sea during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.
