New banners will be going up on 22 utility poles in Martinsburg. The banners should be arriving in the borough soon and could be put up. The banners will be replaced with the snowflakes for the holiday season and will go up again in the spring.

The 39th Annual Pennsylvania State Singing Convention begins today, Aug. 7 and will continue through the weekend, ending on Sunday, Aug. 10. As it has been since its inception, the convention will be held at Morrisons Cove Memorial Park in Martinsburg. The event, spanning nearly four decades, is rich in history.
