LEGAL NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE

NOTICE is given that the Council of the Borough of Williamsburg will consider an Ordinance establishing the discount and penalty with respect to payment of real estate taxes at its regular meeting to be held in the Municipal Building, 305 E. 2nd Street, Williamsburg, Pennsylvania on October 3, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. The following is a summary of the proposed ordinance:

Beginning with the tax year beginning on the first Monday of January, 2023 and ending on the first Monday of January, 2024, and for each tax year thereafter, all taxpayers subject to the payment of real estate taxes imposed by the Council of the Borough of Williamsburg shall be entitled to a discount of two percent (2%) of the amount of such tax upon making payment of the whole amount thereof within two (2) months after the date of the tax notice. All taxpayers who fail to make payment of any such taxes charged against them for a period of four (4) months after the date of the tax notice shall be charged a penalty of ten percent (10%), which penalty shall be added to the taxes and collected by the Tax Collector as provided for by law.

The entire Ordinance may be examined at the Municipal Building, Williamsburg, Pennsylvania, Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

LEGAL NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE

PERTAINING TO LOCAL ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION TAX ASSISTANCE (LERTA) AND IMPROVEMENT OF

DETERIORATING REAL PROPERTY OR AREAS OF TAX EXEMPTION ACT (RLERTA)

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Borough of Williamsburg will consider, at their regular meeting on October 3, 2022, at 7 pm, held in the Municipal Building, at 305 E. 2nd Street, Williamsburg, PA the adoption of an ordinance (of which this notice is the summary) designating a certain deteriorated location as being eligible for LERTA designation, pursuant to the Act of December 1, 1977, P.L. 237, 72 P.S. §4722 and for RLERTA designation, pursuant to Act No. 34 of July 9, 1971, P.L. 206, 72 P.S. §4711-101. The eligible location is the entirety of the Townships of Catharine and Woodbury and the Borough of Williamsburg. The ordinance provides for exemption from County real property taxes at the rate of 100% for year one, 80% for year two, 60% for year three, 40% for year four and 20% for year five. The exemption terminates after the fifth year. The ordinance shall terminate ten (10) years from the effective date of January 1, 2023, unless otherwise repealed or extended by the Williamsburg Borough. Sealed proposals will be received by the Huston Township of Blair County at 1230 Piney Creek Road, Martinsburg, PA 16662, until 7:30 p.m. on October 6, 2022, for the following:

6-wheel dump with 10’ plow, asher & operator, 160 estimated hours of use,

10-wheel dump with 10’ commercial plow, asher & operator, 160 estimated hours of use,

Above items of equipment to be complete with operator, fuel, insurance and hauling cost to/from, and within the township.

Item “D” hours are estimated only. Township makes no guarantee and or all hours for any items will be utilized during the contact period.

Note: The Township will not be responsible for and will not pay for any “downtime” as per attachment “A” specs which are part of this bid. Also, must be within 10 miles of Township.
