Notice hereby is given that the Board of Supervisors of Woodbury Township, Blair County will consider for enactment at the Regular meeting on August 3, 2023, at 7:00 pm. or another public meeting as permitted by statute, an Ordinance providing for minimizing accelerated erosion and preventing sediment pollution to the waters of the Commonwealth within the Township and setting forth the process for enforcement and penalties for violations of the Ordinance. The meeting will be held at 6385 Clover Creek Road, Williamsburg, PA. The full text of the proposed Ordinance is available for public inspection by appointment by calling Kelsie Lego, Township Secretary (814-832-2296) to arrange for a time to examine the proposed Ordinance during regular office hours, Monday-Wednesday.

Storage Sale

Due to nonpayment of storage and fees, all property of Shawn Ramsey, 918 Buttermilk Hollow Road, Claysburg, PA 16625, stores at Freedom Junction Self-Storage, East Freedom, PA, will be sold on August 1, 2023, at 10 a.m., at Freedom Junction, East Freedom, PA.

BOROUGH OF ROARING SPRING, BLAIR COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

ORDINANCE NUMBER 2023- 1

AN ORDINANCE AND RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF ROARING SPRING,

BLAIR COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA,

PROHIBITING THE POSTING OF SIGNS,

WITNESSETH:

WHEREAS, Roaring Spring Borough, Blair County, PA (the “Borough”) is a municipal corporation organized under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, the Borough is the owner of numerous signposts, trees, fire hydrants, utility poles, traffic poles and streetlight poles located in the Borough, which are adjacent to streets, alleys and walkways; and

WHEREAS, said facilities are being used to display signs by individuals and entities unrelated to the Borough; and

HEREAS, the Borough has determined that said signs pose a safety risk, are aesthetically unappealing, and result in costs to the Borough for the removal thereof; and

WHEREAS, the Borough Council is desirous of prohibiting such signs on its property as identified above.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND RESOLVED by the Council of the Borough of Roaring Spring as follows:

SECTION ONE

SIGN PROHIBITION

It shall be unlawful for any person or entity to attach any sign, placard, notice or advertisement of any kind or description upon any signposts, trees, fire hydrants, utility poles, traffic poles and streetlight poles which are owned by the Borough and are located adjacent to the public streets, alleys or highways within the Borough.

SECTION TWO BOROUGH USAGE

This section shall not apply whatsoever to any signs posted upon said facilities by the Borough or any other appropriate governmental entity which has the approval of the Borough to aid or assist in the carrying out of a governmental function such as the regulation of speed or traffic direction or the identification of streets and alleys located within the Borough.

SECTION THREE

AUTHORITY TO REMOVE

Borough officials are hereby given authority to immediately remove any sign, placard, notice or advertisement of any kind or description from Borough property as described above upon discovery thereof.

SECTION FOUR

PENALTY

Any person or entity who shall violate the provisions of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a summary offense and be subject to a fine of not more than $300.00 for each date that the said person or entity is in violation of this Ordinance, plus court costs.

This Ordinance shall become effective at the earliest point in time as allowed by law.

THE BOROUGH OF ROARING SPRING ORDAINS AND ENACTS THIS ORDINANCE AND IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED AND ENACTED INTO LAW BY THE BOROUGH THIS ______ DAY OF AUGUST, 2023.
