Roaring Spring Library Begins Annual Appeal

As a staple in the Roaring Spring Borough, the Roaring Spring Community Library has always been open to the community with welcoming arms.

Throughout the year we host many valuable programs to the community such as “Take a Coat, Leave a Coat,” which benefits local citizens in need of warm attire with no questions asked; Block Play with Miss Cortney, to allow for the critical development of the minds of our youngest generation; allowing the community to access computers so they can print documents if need-be; and our most notable event, “A Novel Affair,” which is a dinner and silent auction to raise the necessary funds needed for our services and programs.

With us entering 2019, it is time to reflect. Located at the historic Eldon Inn, this is the Roaring Spring Community Library’s 60th year serving you, our valued community members. Additionally, as you may know, the library primarily operates on donations given by the community to remain open as a valuable resource for the community.

In the average calendar year, it costs about $100,000 minimum for the library to remain in operation. While we do receive some local and state government funding, we still only meet 46 percent of our operating costs. That is why for this calendar year, we are asking you, our valued patrons to help us meet our other 56 percent.

Please consider contributing a tax-deductible donation of any amount to help keep the library open.

If you have any further questions, please contact library Director Michelle McIntyre at 224-2994.
