Panthers Blank McConnellsburg

 


Northern Bedford dropped two of three games in the past two weeks in high school baseball action.

The Panthers slipped to 4-6 through their first 10 games.

Everett 5, NB 0

At home on April 16, Northern Bedford was shut out 5-0 by Everett.

The Warriors scored single runs in the first and fifth innings, before scoring three in the seventh.

Andrew Lazor’s two doubles were Northern Bedford’s only two hits.

Logan College and Luke Wiedemann each pitched for the Panthers. College struck out four and Wiedemann three.

F-M 6, NB 5 (10)

On April 18, host Fannett-Metal rallied for a 6-5, 10-inning victory against Northern Bedford.

Northern Bedford led 4-2 through four innings, but Fannett-Metal scored single runs in the fifth and seventh innings. After the Panthers took the lead in the top of the 10th, Fannett-Metal scored twice in the bottom half to pull out the win.

Luke Wiedemann had two hits and two RBIs for Northern Bedford, while Andrew Lazor had two hits and scored twice. Thad Kraucz added a triple.

Lazor and Thad Leidy each pitched for the Panthers. Lazor struck out six.

NB 10, Mc-Burg 0

The Panthers cruised to a 1-0, six-inning victory against visiting McConnellsburg on April 25.

Northern Bedford scored in five of its six at-bats – three runs in the first, one in the third and fourth innings, fourth in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Andrew Lazor and Thad Kraucz (double) each had two hits for the Panthers. Colby Imler drove in three runs, while Kraucz and Thad Leidy each scored twice. Evan Clouse added a double in the victory.

Winning pitcher Luke Wiedemann fired a one-hitter while striking out four and walking one in the complete game victory.
