S-C Faces ‘Historic’ Shortfall

Spring Cove School District Superintendent Rodney L. Green said the district is expecting to receive $1,141,853 less assistance from the state in 2011-12 and will pay an additional $173,781 in health care costs, an increase of $84,089 in retirement costs and approximately $300,000 more in contract labor costs. Green called the state cutback an “Historic Budgetary Shortfall.”
