Family Left Homeless After Fire

A fast moving fire broke out at the home of Rodney Coppersmith on Penndale Avenue in Claysburg, near the former Ranch House Restaurant. The family of four was left homeless. An exact cause was not given, but the fire was ruled accidental.

Mr. and Mrs. J. Calvin Baker of Williamsburg were named by the parade committee as the Morrisons Cove Agriculture Honorees. Mr. Baker and his wife Thelma live at the former John B. Sorrick dairy farm on Clover Creek They farmed there for 34 years before retiring.They will ride in the parade on Tuesday.
