Kenneth Duane Aurandt

Duncansville

Kenneth Duane Aurandt, 75, of Duncansville, passed away May 24, 2023.

He was born in Altoona, March 18, 1948, son of the late Daniel J. and Sarah (Loose) Aurandt and grew up in Williamsburg.

He is survived by two sons: Kenneth Aurandt, Jr., and Joshua (Christina) Aurandt; stepdaughter, Rochelle Farringer; grandsons: Todd and Mica Aurandt; and two step granddaughters; Tia and Kaitlin McKnight; a sister, Shirley Kurtz-Flaugh and a brother, Daniel R. Aurandt.

Preceding him in death were his wife, the former Debora S. Farringer, and a son Todd Daniel Aurandt; a brother Thomas Aurandt; two sisters, Sara Lower and Wanda Timperley.

Kenneth graduated from Williamsburg High School, class of 1967. He was a member of the Williamsburg Blue Pirate Basketball teams that won 50 consecutive games in 1966 and 1967. April 23, 2016, the 1965-66 Williamsburg basketball team, which Kenneth played starter, was inducted into the Blair County Sports Hall of Fame.

Kenneth graduated from computer school in Pittsburgh, with a degree in computer programming. He also received a certification in welding.

Upon graduation he was immediately drafted into the military and served in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Kenneth often spoke about his father taking him to church and his Christian upbringing in the Williamsburg Church of God, now known as Grace Pointe Community Church of God.

Kenneth retired from Cenveo Williamsburg. He was noted as a good man, never complained, just took one day at a time. He also was commended as a hard worker, kind and well-liked by his co-workers and friends.

Arrangements for private celebration of life are pending.
