Newry Lutheran Church Distributes Food Boxes to Help Those Experiencing Hunger

Newry Lutheran Church, 1030 Shamrock Lane, is working to help those experiencing hunger in the community by distributing food boxes each month. This new distribution program will kick off from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 26, in the church social hall.

The “Meal in a Box” will contain enough food to prepare dinner for a family. Boxes will be distributed while supplies last at no charge; there are no income guidelines to receive a meal box.

Additional monthly distribution dates are Sept. 30, Oct. 28, Nov. 18, and Dec. 16.

The Meal in a Box program is a social ministry initiative of Newry Lutheran Church made possible through grant funding by the Allegheny Synod, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
