Renovations on Don Witherspoon Memorial Basketball Court Commemorated with Ribbon Cutting

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Central Blair Recreation Commission, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Aug. 24, at 4:30 p.m., to commemorate renovations at the recently dedicated Don Witherspoon Memorial Basketball Court located at 1214 19th St., Altoona, in the Booker T. Washington Park. The basketball court was initially renovated in 2010. Recent renovations include new standards and goals as well as surfacing. Following the ceremony, a block party will be held in the park from 5 to 7 p.m.
