Gregory Announces Change in Time Of Shredding Event; Held Today

To prevent issues with traffic, Rep. Jim Gregory (R-Blair/Huntington) announced that the time of the free shredding event in Hollidaysburg for district residents is being changed.

The first event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14, from noon to 4 p.m., at Legion Memorial Park along North Juniata Street in Hollidaysburg. This event will remain on the same date, however the time has changed for shredding to be earlier in the day.

The second event will remain at the current date and time as Thursday, Sept. 21, from 4-7 p.m. at Gregory’s Bellwood district office, located at 135 Stadium Drive.

“I apologize for any inconvenience caused by changing the time. The last time we hosted this event, it was extremely successful and brought in a great number of residents,” Gregory said.

The events are free, and residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, medical information and bank account information to be shredded. Each household may bring up to 100 pounds of paper.

Paper clips and staples can be handled by Burgmeier’s Shredding; however, items that cannot be shredded include cardboard, hanging file folders, large binder clips and three-ring binders.
