RS Library Extends Hours, Brings Back Saturdays

Beginning Sept. 5, Roaring Spring Community Library has expanded open hours to the public.

The library is now open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library is also reinstating Saturday hours and will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting Sept. 16.

Adding more hours a week to the schedule means more access to books, programs, computers and community engagement services. The RSCL Board of Directors made the decision to restore pre-pandemic hours in an effort to offer our community more access to library resources.

Additional hours mean additional cost. RSCL has always faced funding challenges. The expansion of the hours presents the library with new funding challenges. The new faces patrons see at the library are volunteers who have stepped up to help with extra hours, new and existing programs, and make services possible for the community.
